Colton Joseph Schneider Memorial Scholarship Foundation
On October 16, 2015, Colton Joseph Schneider was tragically killed in an ATV accident. Colton is the son of Edmond North wrestling head coach, Andy Schneider and his wife Angie.
Growing up, Colton had been a member of the Generals Little League wrestling team in Edmond, Oklahoma, followed by the Edmond North Junior High wrestling team. In 2015, he would have become a member of the Edmond North High School Wrestling Team, but unfortunately never got that chance. Colton was a vibrant young man who was well-known and liked not just by his teammates and classmates at Edmond North, but statewide through relationships he had built on wrestling trips to other schools in Oklahoma and even surrounding states.
The Colton Joseph Schneider Memorial Scholarship Foundation was created in 2016 to continue the legacy of Colton. It is an award that will be presented annually to a member of the Edmond North High School Wrestling Team in Colton’s name. Anyone wishing to donate to this scholarship should make checks out to: Colton Joseph Schneider Memorial Scholarship Foundation and mail to 1800 Timber Ridge Rd, Edmond, OK 73034.
Colton tweeted out two significant quotes just a few months before his death. These quotes have become mottos for all who knew him.
“What is love? Love is getting up every morning and living out the rest of the day knowing it could be your last.”
“Changing “I have to”, to “I get to”, will do a whole 180 degree twist on your view of things.”
